4.44

Is death or something coming for me?

It's been really freaky all week. Everytime i check my watch or phone it's either 4.44 p.m. or 4.44 a.m. !!! (4 means death in chinese so to hv 3 consecutive fours in a row is triply deadly) gah! and look at the date today. the day that i finally decide to put up this post happens to be the 4th of december.

maybe i'm going crazy BUT maybe it's a sign of some sort? I'm not usually superstitious but hey if it's been happening to you all week you'd start thinking about crazy things too ok!

plus, i had the weirdest dream today. I was with one of my clients and his mum at mount Vesuvius giving him a lesson on volcanoes and how they erupt. Next thing i know is that everyone gets evacuated and the volcano starts erupting. But for some strange reason, my client and i decided to stay sitting on that volcano. BUT, halfway through, we decided that it would be best if we made a run for it. so we ran and ran until we found this really high spot where the lava *crosses fingers* won't reach us. As the lava creeped closer to us, out popped this baby out of nowhere and the next thing i kno is that the baby is strangling me.

Freaky mou?! So then I woke up - at least i tried to cos i then experienced about 3 minutes or so of sleep paralysis which felt like a whole hour!

WARGH! LJKHFDSKYD.

stumbled into a riot for gay rights on our way to cel's house for pre-drinks in the city.

yay! when we finally got to cel's, we took a huge shot and a few drinks. All geared up and ready for stereo 09!

the main reason that we even decided to attend this event, was to celebrate mr.b's birthday ( the guy in light blue feeling up his nipples)

we started our afternoon in the hordern. see how we're all still pretty civilized? at last some of us are :) teehee

then we headed out to the mainstage for some air and sunshine! it doesn't look very sunny in this pic i apologize.

hokkien mee attempt 1 & how i get tormented at work

well, my original plan was to make char kuey teow so i bought all the ingredients to make it... and after paying, i realised that i had forgotten to get the noodles. so i went back into the store and guess wht?! no kuey teow left. so i had to make do with hokkien noodles.

penny called it char hokkien mee

tadah! looks okay~ but it didn't turn out so well cos i forgot the pork lard and apparently that's what gives it the oomph factor. oh well, i compensated by making more sambal :)

AND, today, i thought that i'd write a bit about one of my quirky problems- i can't eat chocolate figurines. whether it be bunnies or santas or wombats.. i just can't. it's just the idea of eating the animal's cute face or parts of his pretty body that gets to me. some things are just too cute to be eaten.

so the story goes like this: During Easter, one of my clients gave me a chocolate easter bunny as a present and, because of my problem, it's been sitting on my desk ever since. i can't eat it because... i just can't! so the only other thing i can do is to leave it on my desk until

a) someone breaks it so i get to share it with everyone in the office

or

b) it expires and i get to finally throw it away

obviously, people in the office already know about this problem of mine because.. well, it's a chocolate bunny that's been sitting in my office since easter untouched. noone untouches a chocolate bunny ( if that's even gramatically correct)

Anyway, i got to work this morning and what did i find?

blistering hot weekend & we didn't even make it to the beach oO

we wanted to buy some merchandise but it was ridiculously expensive! so we took a pic of it instead. I really wanted a britney t shirt though.

here's a pic of a crazy acrobat who did somersaults on the trampoline. yup, she's got no legs! and she was still able to do all these crazy stunts.

the concert wasn't bad, but i will admit that i was a bit disappointed. i expected her to engage with the audience a tad bit more. however, i will give her credit for dancing non-stop for 1 and a half hours! i've always loved britney and will continue to love the work that she does. here she is singing 'everytime'- the only song that she actually sang tht night. a tribute to justin? is it just me or were the songs that she sang tht night a bit sad? ( like emotionally sad not sad as in bad sad.. u kno wht i mean!?)

on friday, headed to 'the club' at the cross for ng's 24th bday! happy bday old man!!

so many leng luis there tht nite. the boys couldn't stop their eyes from wandering. sigh* so we girlies were left to our own devices- we resorted to camwhoring

twas a fun night and wl definitely head to the cross again soon! we did some shopping the next day after ice cream class so we're more than ready to dress up again!

See the hole where the moths bit themselves out of the cocoon? i've been wondering how to clean the box for a week now. a bit difficult considering the fact that there are eggs everywhere now. hmmm

it's monday so don't speak to me!

hahha isn't it a cute illustration? i might just print it out and stick it on my office wall. Oh! and plus, i woke up this morning to find a black spider staring at me when i opened my cupboard. Naturally, I screamed the house down and i dunno how or why but i reached for my dumbell and smashed it! Then i screamed again cos it looked so disgusting !

I dunno what's been going on at home lately. Why are all these bugs appearing out of nowhere?! we had 6 wasp nests on my balcony when i checked on sunday. So adrian went out to spray them and get rid of them. In the process of doing this, he found a...... spider's nest! WTF!~??? YUCK! so now we not only have wasps trying to multiply on our balconies but little black spiders too. gross gross gross!

Anyway, onto something more pleasant :) we attended an 80s party on sat. Here's the bday girl and boy. all smiles!

The Amazing Race-Sydney

Leading up to the race, we decided to make our own uniforms-just because it's more fun that way :)

Task 1: Make 4 origami cranes, rabbits and camels
We came in first position for this task. Although we did get a 5 minute penalty cos there was something wrong with our camels and rabbits.

Task 2: Walk around the galleries and answer 11 questions.
No pics of this task cos the librarian was cranky. Questions 5, 8 and 11 made us go round in circles and guess wht?! they were cancelled cos they changed the displays. They could've told us earlier :( we were searching for abt an hour.

Task 3: Figure out a math equation, get the answer, then count the name plates (from a pole that we had to look for) from the top down AND write down the name of the person from that name plate.
I hate maths. AND it's not surprising that I was not of much help to my team mates at all. Sorry guys! This task drove us nuts and it took us close to another hour to figure out. So much for taking up additional maths in high school How embarassing!

The dreaded pole!! Do u kno how difficult it is to count the name plates without taking a pic of it? Grrrr!

Task 4: Get 3 randoms to make a human pyramid with you.
The poor girls :( I don't think they understood what they were in for. See the girl wearing the white cap? It was her bday. Happy bday!

Task 5: Go into the Apple store, download 'I want it that way' by the Backstreet Boys, video yourselves lip syncing to the song, remove all background noise, embed the song into the video and send it to the organizers.
I don't even kno how to scroll down using a Mac! We would've died during this task if we didn't have Jas. And no, i don't think that i will be posting up that video cos it's just too darn embarassing :P

Task 6: Buy a kebab with 'the lot' and get your team member to feed it to you from behind.
I look like a pig and the falafel fell into my top. Yay me. Also, we lost Jas along the way cos she had leg problems :( sobs. She hobbled to the nearest lifeline officer and waited for us at the final stop.

Task 7: Find a random, take a picture with him/her, add a custom background and add embellishments. Oh! and everyone needs to be doing the same pose.
Easy peasy! We found a professor from Netherlands called Arthur. Hi again Arthur! and thanks for helping us out!


Here we are on our way to our next task, clearly we were exhausted and so over it at that time :)

Task 8: The Coke challenge: Determine which one is original coke, diet coke with caffeine, diet coke without caffeine, and coke zero.
For some reason they all tasted like coke zero to me.
